Kelsey Joyce
Kelsey Joyce is a Maryland based artist who specializes in papier-mâché sculptures and Mixed Media artworks. Joyce started sculpting after taking an intro to sculpture class in her junior year of college, in which she quickly fell in love with the medium. One year into creating art, Joyce started experimenting with papier-mâché as a means to explore her imagination on a budget. Joyce has since taken her love of building and grown her artwork in scale, detail, and design to create fantastical creatures for indoor and outdoor displays and exhibits. Joyce has been teaching art for the last 5 years and has recently started to build her own business. When she is not creating works of art she enjoys expressing herself through dance, fashion, and music.
"I am a Maryland based artist who specializes in colorful happy papier-mâché sculptures, installations, public art, and paintings. I love creating large scale sculptures that are primarily based on imaginary creatures and other fantastical subjects. My work is inspired by imagination, a desire to create optimistic artworks, and my love of bright colors and dragons. My goal with art is to transport the viewer into a fantasy, relax them, ignite their imaginations, and hopefully make them smile. "
